Field Inspector - Roof

Partner with Inspectify | 1099 Field Inspector | Flexible Schedule Looking for trade pros — roofers, exterior contractors, insurance adjusters, and experienced inspectors. No state license required, but real roofing knowledge is a must.

Inspectify is a national platform that connects independent field inspectors with property inspection work from institutional investors, property managers, and insurance carriers. We handle client acquisition and billing — you show up to the property and complete the job through our app.

This is a paid trade role, not a general handyman gig. Our app uses a structured checklist — but to complete it accurately, you need to know what you're looking at on a roof and exterior. If you can't tell a ridge vent from a turbine vent, identify step flashing, mark a 10×10 hail test square, or distinguish K-style from half-round gutters, this role isn't for you.

You're a great fit if you have experience as a:

• Roofing contractor or crew lead
• Exterior remodeler or siding installer
• Insurance adjuster (especially storm/property)
• General contractor with residential exterior experience
• Retired or unlicensed home inspector
• Solar installer or gutter installer with broader roofing knowledge

You should be comfortable identifying and assessing:

• Shingle wind damage (lifted, creased, torn tabs, sealant failure)
• Hail damage patterns by cardinal direction, including marking chalk test squares and counting impacts
• Roof components: drip edge, valleys, step and counter flashing, chimney crickets, storm collars, pipe jacks, rake and eave details
• Vent types: ridge, box, turbine, slant back, solar, attic fans
• Roofing materials and visible underlayment (15lb felt, 30lb felt, synthetic)
• Siding materials (vinyl, fiber cement, stucco, brick veneer, engineered wood, etc.)
• Interior water damage and tracing it back to the roof source via attic access

Partner Requirements:

• Real roofing/exterior trade experience (see above)
• Comfortable getting on residential roofs of varying pitch with your own extension ladder
• Tape measure, chalk (for hail test squares — chalk only, no lumber crayons), and reliable vehicle

• A Haag Shingle Gauge for testing siding or roofing
• Smartphone capable of running the Inspectify app
• Drone helpful but not required (used when a roof is unsafe to walk)
