INSOUTH Bank has been around since February of 1869 and is seeking a Universal Banker for our Jackson, TN location.
The Universal Banker is vital in providing exceptional customer service for both consumer and business customers by building customer relationships based on trust and the ability to identify financial needs and recommend solutions.
This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting customers with banking products, transactions, and other financial services as needed; for providing timely and efficient completion of transactions while maintaining accurate records and thorough handling of all cash and negotiable instruments assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide a high level of customer service while handling daily transactions, addressing customer inquiries, and researching and resolving customer problems/issues.
- Perform all paying and receiving functions for customers with a high level of accuracy. This will include teller functions such as processing cash and check deposits, examining checks for endorsements, cash withdrawals, selling Cashier’s Checks and handling account to account transfers for customers. Must balance the teller drawer each day and verify all cash totals.
- Perform customer service-related functions such as opening and servicing new and existing checking, savings, certificate of deposits and IRA accounts, identifying customer’s current and potential financial needs and using this knowledge to make suggestions for ways INSOUTH can help fulfill these needs.
- Assist with deposit account collections.
- Responsibilities will include supporting the overall branch sales effort, including actively cross-selling and referring customers and prospects to bank products.
- Actively participate in bank retail product campaigns, including assisting with product promotions throughout the year.
- Maintain a well-developed working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered to be able to educate customers on options for managing financial transactions.
- Identify and refer, when appropriate, to another department to discuss certain financial products/services.
- Have a clear understanding of all policies and practices as set forth in the INSOUTH Branch Administration Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Assist in community awareness events to increase bank outreach and foster new business opportunities.
- Understand and comply with all position applicable Bank policies and procedures as well as all position applicable state and federal banking laws and regulations,
- Complete all assigned compliance and position training related to job functions.
- As part of the overall team of bank employees, the position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least six months related experience. Cash handling experience preferred. Bilingual a plus.
