VFX Art Intern
The Visual Effects Art internship here at Insomniac Games, is an excellent opportunity to be part of game production. This intern will enjoy the work of a fast paced and creative environment of a game's studio. The VFX intern will be mentored by senior members of the team, through the Insomniac process for crafting VFX art.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Editing assets with our proprietary toolset
- Crafting materials and meshes for visual effects
- Providing finishing touches and polish on game assets
- Optimizing visual effects to be performant
- Set dressing the levels and cinematics with visual effects elements
- Delivering milestones with the rest of the VFX team
- Developing collaborative and cross-discipline team skills essential to game development
- Learn game industry workflows, with added reward of getting final assets into the game.
Internship Qualifications:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited university or educational institution, pursuing a Diploma, Certificate, Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D with the following concentration: Computer Art, Illustration, Game Design, Product Design, or equivalent or six to twelve months related experience and/or training.
- Internships are available to students who are US citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
- Possess strong foundational skills, and production design skills.
- Proficiency in real-time game engines such as Unreal or Unity.
- Familiarity with third-party tools such as Houdini, Maya, or Substance.
- The ideal interns will be upbeat, self-motivated, creative, and responsible, with a passion for video games and art.
Internship Details:
- This is a paid, full-time internship: 5 days per week for approximately 40 hours a week.
- We expect at least an 8-week commitment from our interns.
- This role is based in Burbank, CA or remote from an approved US state.
