Senior Tax Accountant

We're partnering with a rapidly growing CPA firm in Northern New Jersey that's investing heavily in its tax practice and looking to add a Senior Tax Accountant to its team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative firm where you'll work directly with Partners, gain exposure to a diverse client base, and have a clear path for career progression.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and multi-state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S Corporations, and C Corporations.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of closely held businesses and high-net-worth individual clients.
- Perform tax planning, projections, estimated tax calculations, and extension filings.
- Research complex federal and state tax issues and provide practical solutions to clients.
- Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the year.
- Review work prepared by junior staff and provide coaching and technical guidance.
- Work closely with Partners on consulting projects, entity structuring, and tax-saving strategies.
- Stay current on changing tax legislation and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of recent public accounting tax experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing:
- Individual (1040)
- Partnership (1065)
- S Corporation (1120S)
- C Corporation (1120)
- Multi-state tax returns
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance.
- Experience with tax planning and client advisory work is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- CPA licence or CPA track preferred.
