Position Details
Insignia is seeking a Software Development Intern to support the development and enhancement of internal tools used by our technical and operational teams. This opportunity is intended for recent graduates who have completed a 4-year degree and are looking to apply their technical skillset in a practical, business-focused environment. Candidates with advanced degrees and/or relevant professional experience are also welcome and encouraged to apply.
This is a full-time internship with an expectation of 40 hours per week. The internship may be structured as a post-graduate engagement of up to 6 months, with the potential to convert to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.
This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to tools and systems actively used across the organization, providing meaningful experience and direct exposure to software development within a consulting environment.

Job Description
- Contribute to real projects across Insignia’s internal tools ecosystem, including web applications built with Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, and other frameworks.
- Create or refine automated workflows that connect internal business systems.
- Develop Python scripts to process, transform, and analyze project and operational data.
- Support development of tools that improve internal workflows and efficiency across technical and operational teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development and improve problem-solving efficiency.
- Participate in team discussions and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal systems and tools.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude ) within a development workflow, with demonstrated ability to leverage these tools to improve efficiency and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar frameworks for extending AI capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a self-directed environment.
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Candidates nearing completion may apply; however, the degree must be completed prior to the internship start date.
- Experience or exposure to Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Python, and workflow automation tools (e.g., n8n).
- Experience with Supabase or PostgreSQL, REST APIs, Git/version control, and development tools such as VS Code.
- Exposure to environmental consulting, Geographic Information Systems, or related technical domains.
- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and location. The hourly rate for this position is expected to range from $35.00 to $45.00.
