Night shift. 36 hrs./week guaranteed. 13 week contract.
Must have Charge Nurse experience.
Active CA license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine and be capable of providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a critical member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency room setting.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform IV insertion and venipuncture for fluid administration and laboratory testing.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patients’ conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and post-care instructions.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems for efficient patient management and documentation.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Skills
Candidates should possess the following skills:
- Level II trauma center experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in emergency medicine practices.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine, geriatrics, infectious disease care, PICU, OR experience, urgent care, medical-surgical nursing, outpatient clinic experience, sub-acute care experience, and post-acute care experience.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to perform patient assessments effectively.
- Competence in basic life support (BLS) techniques.
- Experience administering injections and medication administration.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices.
- Proficient in using EMR/EHR systems for patient records management.
