Overview:
The Vice President, Membership is responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive membership growth and engagement for the Insights Association. This role will work collaboratively with the membership, marketing, and events teams to maximize the value proposition of the association.
Responsibilities:
Membership Sales and Growth
-Develop and execute a comprehensive membership sales strategy to meet or exceed annual membership revenue goals, with a focus on recruiting companies in the digital data analytics sector, large agencies, and brands.
-Proactively identify and engage potential members through outbound sales efforts, including cold calls, meetings, and networking events.
-Build and maintain a robust pipeline of membership leads and prospects, utilizing AMS tools for tracking and reporting.
-Conduct needs assessments with prospects to align the association’s offerings with their business objectives.
Retention
-Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing members and lead bespoke engagement sessions with their teams
-Prioritize at-risk members to minimize year-over-year membership attrition
Relationship Building
-Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry professionals, corporate decision-makers, and other key stakeholders.
-Represent the association at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote membership benefits.
-Act as the primary point of contact for prospective members.
Collaboration and Strategic Development
-Partner with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and materials that communicate the value of membership.
-Collaborate with the events and programs teams to integrate membership opportunities into key association initiatives.
-Provide input into the development of new membership benefits, services, and pricing structures to ensure continued value for members.
Reporting and Analysis
-Monitor membership sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.
-Analyze trends and feedback to inform strategies for improving member acquisition and retention.
-Refine and optimize sales processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Digital Data Analytics Sector
-Serve as the team liaison to the IA’s DDA (Digital Data Analytics) Task Force, with a focus on recruiting the DDA segment into IA membership as outlined in the Association’s Strategic Plan
Requirements / Qualifications:
-10 years of progressive sales, business development, or membership growth experience, preferably within the market research, insights, data analytics, consulting, or adjacent B2B professional services sectors.
-Demonstrated success growing B2B membership or subscription revenue, including new member acquisition, enterprise/corporate membership expansion, and renewal performance.
-Deep understanding of the market research, insights, analytics, or customer intelligence ecosystem, including agencies, platforms, consultancies, and enterprise client organizations.
-Proven ability to design and execute data-driven membership growth strategies, including segmentation, pipeline development, and account-based engagement.
-Experience managing corporate and enterprise-level relationships, including senior stakeholders such as C-suite executives, research leaders, and insights professionals.
-Strong experience with sales operations, forecasting, and pipeline management.
-Demonstrated ability to analyze member data, market trends, and industry dynamics to inform strategic sales initiatives and identify new growth opportunities.
-Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, events, partnerships, thought leadership, and product teams to drive integrated revenue and member engagement strategies.
-Track record of building and leading high-performing sales teams.
-Strong executive communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the organization with industry leaders and key stakeholders.
-Strategic mindset with the ability to translate organizational priorities into scalable revenue and membership growth initiatives.
