Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the acting Pharmacist, our attentive, precise and team oriented Pharmacy Technician will assist in providing patient care second to none! The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist on duty in preparing pharmaceuticals and documenting medication. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for ensuring and monitoring quality standards within the Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician is also responsible for medication pricing and billing these pharmaceuticals accordingly. Desired candidates have previous experience acting as a Pharmacy Technician, exhibiting excellent customer service skills, and seeks to contribute to our team environment.

- Fills trays and specialty tackle boxes used by the OR / Anesthesia Staff
- Stocks Pyxis machines and other floor stock areas
- Assists in enrolling and training Pyxis Med Station users
- Orders, receives and replenishes pharmaceutical stock in the pharmacy
- Prepares pharmaceuticals including IV products
- Maintains a clean room and area using approved cleaning protocols
- Prepares the billing of pharmaceuticals used by the OR, Anesthesia staff and Clinic
- Maintains cleanliness of the pharmacy
- Completes unit inspections to adhere to quality standards
- Participates in weekly Pyxis/PACU controlled substances audits
- Performs other duties as assigned by the staffed pharmacist
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Must be licensed as a pharmacy technician in Michigan with a current active licensure
- Active BLS Certification, or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred
- Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement
- Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers to exhibit patient care second to none
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and drive
