The Registered Medication Aide will be responsible for day-to-day activities of participants in groups and as individuals to help meet their psycho-social needs. Assist participants with all activities of daily living (exercise, eating, ambulating, toileting, and transfers).  Responsible for helping to assess the group needs of the participants, help participants with completing ADL’s while at the Center, specifically assuring that the participants have their toileting needs met. Also, the Medication Aide will administer medication to participants in coordinated efforts with the wellness office. This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing. This position is Monday-Friday, with a possible schedule during the following operating hours 9:30am-5:30pm.

Experience

• 1-2 years long-term care experience, gerontological experience including dementia population preferred.
• Must have effective communication skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.

Education

• High school diploma or GED. Team members who work with participants shall receive at least 24 hours of training no later than three weeks after starting employment.
• Registered Medication Aide (RMA) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
