RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.
This is a temporary (PRN) position, working variable hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Sonography Imaging
- Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
- Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
- Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
- Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
- Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, to and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members
- Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements
(5%) Sonography Department Support
- Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
- Monitor medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
- Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Other Duties as Assigned
- Completes other tasks and projects as assigned
The pay range for this position is $35.00- $53.00 based on direct and relevant experience.
Required:
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing
- Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.)
- Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable)
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently
Preferred:
- Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
- OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
- Bilingual
