Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Psychiatric RN to deliver exceptional patient care in our behavioral health unit. The RN plays a key role in assessment, treatment planning, patient safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and monitor therapeutic/non-therapeutic effects
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation using evidence-based techniques
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation (progress notes, care plans, assessments)
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment plans
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, BHTs, and social workers in care planning
• Participate in treatment team meetings, safety huddles, and quality improvement activities
• Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies promptly and appropriately
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited nursing program; current RN license in Michigan
• 1-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• BLS/CPR certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
• Strong communication, assessment, and crisis intervention skills
• Familiarity with EMR systems preferred
• Physical Requirements
• Ability to assist with patient holds or restraints as needed
• May be expected to lift 50 lbs. or up to 150 lbs. with assistance
