Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Psychiatric RN to deliver exceptional patient care in our behavioral health unit. The RN plays a key role in assessment, treatment planning, patient safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- This position is for contingent day shift RN.
- Paid Sick time
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and monitor therapeutic/non-therapeutic effects
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation using evidence-based techniques
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation (progress notes, care plans, assessments)
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment plans
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, BHTs, and social workers in care planning
- Participate in treatment team meetings, safety huddles, and quality improvement activities
- Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies promptly and appropriately
- Graduate of accredited nursing program; current RN license in Michigan
- 1-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Strong communication, assessment, and crisis intervention skills
- Familiarity with EMR systems preferred
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to assist with patient holds or restraints as needed
- May be expected to lift 50 lbs. or up to 150 lbs. with assistance
- Standing/walking for most of shift
