What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Quality Engineer position at Insight Global?
A partner of Insight Global is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to help build, strengthen, and mature a world-class Quality Management System while driving manufacturing excellence across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who can bridge the gap between hands-on manufacturing quality and digital quality systems, bringing both floor-level process discipline and the ability to develop, implement, and improve scalable quality programs.
The ideal candidate will have a true builder mentality. This person should have experience creating and implementing quality systems, SOPs, procedures, documentation, workflows, and business processes rather than simply operating within established frameworks. They will play a key role in strengthening the organization’s Quality Management System, supporting digital quality initiatives, improving manufacturing performance, and preparing the business for continued ISO 9001 certification success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5 years of Quality Engineering, Quality Systems, or Manufacturing Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience building, implementing, developing, or significantly improving a Quality Management System.
- Hands-on experience creating SOPs, procedures, work instructions, process maps, quality documentation, and business processes.
- Experience implementing, administering, configuring, or improving an Enterprise Quality Management System or digital quality platform.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 requirements with experience participating in or leading certification audits, surveillance audits, internal audits, or management review activities.
- Knowledge of CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting manufacturing quality, inspection methods, measurement systems, process control, and defect reduction initiatives.
- Ability to partner with Engineering and Operations teams, understand technical processes, challenge assumptions, and influence decision making through data and methodology.
- Strong digital systems aptitude with the ability to understand workflows, optimize system processes, support configuration, and contribute to future system enhancements.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ CQE, CQA, or CMQ/OE certification.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Hands-on experience with eQMS platforms such as Intellect, ETQ Reliance, MasterControl, Q-Pulse, Intelex, TrackWise, Arena, Veeva, Greenlight Guru, or similar.
- Working knowledge of ERP, MES, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or other manufacturing and business systems.
- Experience with workflow development, process automation, system migrations, system upgrades, data analysis, and reporting.
