Senior QA Automation Engineer
Contract-to-Hire | Remote (Must sit in Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, Seattle, or Minneapolis)
Compensation: W2 Hourly Rate - $60/hr
We’re looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to help build and scale a best-in-class quality engineering practice across mobile and API platforms. This role partners closely with engineering, product, and platform teams to drive automation, improve test coverage, and ensure high-quality
releases across mobile apps and backend systems.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Build and maintain automated test suites for mobile (iOS/Android) and API layers using Appium and Playwright/Selenium
- Perform hands-on functional and manual testing across complex eCommerce workflows (B2B B2C)
- Own and enhance mobile automation frameworks using Appium with JavaScript/TypeScript
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Manage test planning, execution, and defect tracking in Jira and related tools
- Partner with engineering and product teams to define test strategies for new features
- Identify gaps in coverage and drive improvements across regression, integration, and functional testing
- Promote a quality-first culture across the SDLC
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5 years of QA engineering experience (automation-focused)
- Strong experience with manual testing structured test case design
- Hands-on experience with mobile API testing
- Experience in eCommerce environments (B2B B2C)
- Strong skills in JavaScript and TypeScript
- Deep experience with Appium in production environments
- Experience with Selenium and/or Playwright
- Proficiency using Jira for defect tracking and test management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Headspin, Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, or similar platforms
- Exposure to AI-driven development/testing tools (e.g., Claude or similar)
- Experience using AI tools to improve test coverage and efficiency
Education & Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proven track record improving quality in mobile or eCommerce environments
