Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst supports the financial management of sponsored research awards, working closely with Principal Investigators (PIs), research leadership, and administrative teams to ensure proper accounting, compliance, and use of funds throughout the post-award lifecycle. They will be responsible for managing a portfolio, presenting monthly findings, and performing account reconciliations to ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of post-award research grants
- Partner directly with Pis (principal investigators), physicians, and research staff to review financial performance
- Conduct monthly financial meetings with investigators to review budgets, expenditures, and projections
- Monitor spending to ensure compliance with sponsor requirements and internal policies
- Perform account reconciliations, close-in, and close-out activities
- Review and approve financial transactions and expenditures
- Identify variances and implement corrective actions
- Support special projects and financial reporting as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 2 years of post-award experience
- Experience supporting research or academic medical center environments
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with strong personalities / senior stakeholders (PIs)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday
- Prior experience in healthcare
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
