Position Summary
The Engineer III – Controls is responsible for designing, programming, commissioning, and optimizing building automation systems (BAS) across educational facilities in the greater Phoenix area. This role develops deep expertise in our client's technology platforms and applies that knowledge to improve system performance, occupant comfort, and overall energy efficiency.
The Controls Engineer works closely with engineering and project teams to deliver high-quality automation solutions for HVAC, lighting, access control, and other building systems, while supporting clients throughout installation and post-implementation. This position will operate 60% remote, and 40% onsite in the Phoenix area. This role operates on Standard Shift: 9AM - 5PM, and then for commissioning assignments during school year: 4PM-12AM.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission building automation systems for commercial facilities
- Develop and optimize control sequences to reduce energy consumption and improve facility-wide efficiency
- Support engineering and project teams in the development of design and construction documentation related to BAS and Veregy technology solutions
- Troubleshoot low-voltage control systems in the field and verify system functionality
- Respond to customer issues and occupant comfort concerns in a timely, professional manner
- Collaborate with internal engineers and project stakeholders to solve complex system challenges
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
