Mechanical Quality Inspector
Fairfield, OH | Fully Onsite | Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Quality Inspector for a leading precision manufacturing and engineering company in Fairfield, OH. This individual will support incoming, in-process, and final inspections of complex mechanical components and assemblies while ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical parts and assemblies
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and FARO equipment
- Conduct and support First Article Inspections (FAI)
- Perform dimensional checks utilizing the FARO scanning arm and create inspection plans for dimensional inspection
- Document inspection results, maintain traceability, and report quality issues or nonconformances
- Support MRB (Material Review Board) activities and collaborate with Quality Engineers and production teams to resolve quality concerns
- Assist with AS9100/ISO quality system compliance and shop floor quality initiatives
Qualifications
- 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working within AS9100 and/or ISO-certified environments
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and CAD drawings
- Experience with GD&T/machining tolerances
- Proficiency using precision measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, etc.)
- Experience with FARO Arm inspection and dimensional verification preferred
- Experience with PolyWorks or similar CMM/metrology software preferred
- Welding inspection, NDT (PT, UT, FPI), power generation, gas turbine, or rotating equipment experience highly preferred
Compensation $25.00-$31.00/hour, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates. Compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and qualifications.
