One of Insight Global's clients is looking to hire a Program Manager to lead complex operations within the Aerospace & Defense sector. This individual will be responsible for managing and executing strategic programs across defense, aerospace and technology markets and ensuring that delivery, cost control and operational efficiencies are being met. Our client is a supply chain systems engineering firm that excels in operational delivery so candidates will be interfacing closely with high level clients and be a key part in helping them achieve their missions. This will be a fully onsite role in McLean, VA. Hours are 8AM - 5PM, Monday-Friday.
This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in government contracting, DFARS/FAR compliance, supply-chain management, and cross-functional program execution across engineering, manufacturing, and operations. The Project Manager will be responsible for meeting all contractual, cost, schedule, and performance objectives while maintaining disciplined communication, program control, and regulatory compliance throughout the organization. This position requires periodic travel to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and partner locations. The ideal candidate will possess:

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of aerospace and defense programs from kickoff through delivery, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, and performance goals are met.
- Define program objectives, strategies, and detailed execution plans encompassing scope, timeline, budget, and resource management.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial operations.
- Serve as the primary customer interface with government agencies, defense primes, and commercial clients—maintaining communication, managing expectations, and providing clear updates.
- Manage programs in full compliance with FAR, DFARS, and government contracting standards; oversee modifications, deliverables, and subcontractor flow-downs.
- Apply mechanical, electrical, and fabrication expertise to interpret requirements and shape tailored solutions.
- Oversee secure, compliant transport and storage systems supporting complex A&D supply chains.
- Track milestones and budgets, identify risks early, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time, on-spec delivery.
- Support proposal development, Statements of Work (SOWs), cost estimates, and customer presentations that demonstrat technical and operational value.
- Manage internal resources and external vendors for performance, compliance, and delivery quality.
- Maintain organized program documentation and provide executive briefings and progress reports.
- Address technical and operational challenges in dynamic environments while maintaining compliance and customer satisfaction.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems or other); candidates must have a strong knowledge of engineering design process and knowledge of structural analysis tools such as FEA, CFD and thermal analysis.
- 10 years of project/program management experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Must be able to interact with top A&D companies
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Strong knowledge of FAR/DFAR
- Must be able to obtain a government clearance
- Must have a PMP Certificate
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of new product development, supply chain and logistics, product rollout
- Managing or coordinating manufacturing activities (metal fabrication, assembly, QA within an ISO 9001 environment)
Salary : $145,000 - $175,000
