Job Overview
The Product Development Engineer will support medical device development programs with a primary focus on design verification testing and downstream validation activities. This role contributes across multiple project phases, including test method development, protocol execution, and report generation, while partnering cross‑functionally with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and external suppliers. Engineers will work on defined components while maintaining strong system‑level awareness within highly regulated environments.
This is a contract role (initial 6‑month through October) with potential extension.
Must‑Have Qualifications
- 4 years of product development engineering experience
- Experience supporting design verification testing, including protocol execution and reporting
- Background working in a highly regulated industry (medical device strongly preferred)
- Hands‑on experience developing or executing test methods (not limited to fixture design)
- Strong understanding of statistics and data analysis, including gage R&R
- Experience working cross‑functionally with Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams
- Experience working with external vendors and communicating with suppliers
- Ability to clearly explain prior product development project contributions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience establishing or refining product specifications based on test outcomes
- Familiarity with limit challenge testing
- Experience supporting multiple development projects concurrently
- Exposure to mechanical system integration or component interfaces
- Solid understanding of tolerance analysis, interfaces, and assembly integration
Compensation: $40/hr to $60/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
