Overview
Our client is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to help customers secure residential mortgage financing while building relationships with Realtors, referral partners, and bank clients. This is a sales-focused role responsible for generating new business, evaluating borrower qualifications, recommending loan products, and guiding customers through the mortgage process from application through closing.
Responsibilities
- Generate new mortgage business through referrals and professional relationships.
- Meet with borrowers to collect and review financial documentation.
- Evaluate income, debt, credit, and tax returns to determine eligibility.
- Recommend mortgage products based on customer needs.
- Provide loan estimates and explain rates, fees, and payment options.
- Guide borrowers through the loan process from application to closing.
- Work closely with processing, underwriting, and closing teams.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of future business.
Requirements
- 2 years of residential mortgage origination experience.
- Banking, credit union, or mortgage lending background.
- Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, and VA loan products.
- Understanding of mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing.
- NMLS registration (active or previously issued).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish/English.
- Texas RMLO License.
Compensation
- Base salary
- Tiered commission structure ranging from 40-75 basis points.
- Four commission tiers based on funded loan volume.
- Overtime opportunities available.
