What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Drafter position at Insight Global?
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3 years of experience drafting and designing with the fields of:
- Machine/mechanical and/or thermal/fluid
- Proficient within 3D & 2D modeling in AutoCAD
- Ability to pass a background/drug test
- Experience with routing piping, layout of equipment, conveyors/other equipment in 3D models
- Experience within Industrial or commercial setting
- NEEDS TO HAVE A FAIRLY CLEAN DRIVING RECORD
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Associate/Trade School degree in designing/drafting
- Experience working with Steel detailing (have done it but it is not the only thing they have done)
- 3D Laser Scanning
- Has worked in grain handling, food processing, chemical plants, or agriculture.
- Experience working in Inventor.
About the Role:
Insight Global is hiring a Mechanical Designer that is experienced within 3D modeling of work. The scope of work will include routing piping, laying out equipment, conveyors, and other equipment in 3D models. From those designs, you will create 2D drawings that give particular views of an arrangement of equipment. These drawings are then used to construct the system being designed. This role will be responsible for figuring out the literal nuts and bolts used in equipment and how it goes together.
Salary : $60,000 - $100,000
