Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a full-time, onsite opportunity in Houma, LA with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supporting the oil and gas industry. This individual will serve as the company's dedicated Electrical Engineer, partnering closely with a team of electrical designers while owning the engineering aspects of projects. Responsibilities include reviewing electrical designs, schematics, and wiring packages, performing engineering calculations such as wire sizing and component selection, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and industry standards, supporting proposal and bid development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams through design, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and automation and a strong desire to learn and grow within the organization. Salary ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 annually based on experience, plus a 10% target bonus.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Experience or internship exposure within industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, refinery, chemical plant, or automation environments.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, PLCs, and electrical power distribution.
- Ability to review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical packages for compliance and accuracy.
- Understanding of electrical engineering calculations, specifications, and industry standards.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.
- Exposure to MATLAB, MathCAD, or other engineering analysis tools.
- Experience supporting hazardous-area or industrial electrical installations.
- Experience with motors, VFDs, transformers, relays, control panels, and related electrical equipment.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
