Job Title: D365 FO Developer
Location: Onsite – Warren, MI 48093
Duration: 6 month contract - may extend
Start Date: Target 6/8/2026
Pay Rate: $50-64.50
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science
- 5–7 years of Software Development experience
- Strong experience with D365 Finance & Operations (F&O) (top priority)
- Hands-on development experience with X (critical skillset)
- Experience with SQL and C#
- Experience working on ERP systems (Dynamics AX or similar)
- Ability to support application upgrades / transformation initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience)
Plusses:
- Power Apps experience (working knowledge in the ecosystem)
- Dataverse experience supporting data structures within Power Platform
- Power BI experience (very strong nice-to-have — 1–2 of 4 hires should have this)
- Experience working within data pipelines / Databricks environments
- Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or automotive systems
Position Overview:
Insight Global’s client, is undergoing a large-scale ERP modernization initiative, upgrading a legacy system (Dynamics AX 2012 R2) to D365 Finance & Operations (cloud-based).
This team is responsible for developing and supporting a core internal application (TMAX) used in automotive manufacturing processes, specifically around dyes planning and tooling lifecycle management.
This is a transformation-focused, hands-on development role, where engineers will actively contribute to migrating legacy logic, building new functionality, and enabling reporting capabilities within the new platform.
Core mission: Support a critical ERP migration from on-prem AX → D365, while ensuring business continuity, modern reporting, and system scalability in a cloud-based environment.
Day to Day:
- Develop and convert code from Dynamics AX (on-prem) to D365 F&O (cloud)
- Write and maintain X code to support application functionality
- Build and enhance reports and data models supporting business operations
- Support integration with Power Platform (Power Apps, Dataverse)
- Collaborate with business leads, senior developers, and external partner (MCA Connect)
- Participate in migration activities, troubleshooting, and system enhancements
- Work within a ~10 person team environment alongside technical and functional stakeholders
- Help ensure smooth data flow into downstream systems (Databricks)
- Support ongoing development needs as the platform is modernized
Compensation:
$50/hr to $64.50/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
