Cost Manager / Estimator – Southern CaliforniaLocation Options: Sherman Oaks, Downtown LA, Long Beach, Temecula, Irvine, San DiegoPay Rate: $40-62.50Contract Type: 6-month contract-to-hireExperience Level: 3–10 yearsAbout the RoleA leading national construction company is seeking a Cost Manager / Estimator to join its Cost & Estimating Group. This role is critical in supporting preconstruction and construction teams by preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing design documents, and collaborating with project stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates, and detailed cost estimates for projects of varying size and complexity.Analyze plans and specifications; perform quantity takeoffs for Civil, Structural, and Architectural trades.Collaborate with internal teams, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.Assist in value engineering efforts and maintain knowledge of material unit costs and construction trends.Participate in design progress meetings and client presentations as needed.Required Qualifications3-10 years of Estimation/Cost Management ExperienceEducation: Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.Ability to interpret Civil, Structural, and Architectural drawings and specifications.Familiarity with On-Center OnScreen Takeoff or similar quantity takeoff software (preferred, not required).Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities.Self-motivated, collaborative, and respectful team player.Benefits (Optional for Contract Roles)Health, Vision, Dental, and 401(k) plans (including HSA options)Health Advocacy Program – 24/7 supportEmployee Assistance Program – unlimited access to counselorsPaid sick leave (per state/city laws)Weekly payIG Family Fund – up to $10,000 hardship grant for eligible consultants
