About the Role
As a Commodity Sourcing Manager, you will develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives across critical direct material categories. You'll be responsible for building supplier partnerships, driving cost optimization, mitigating risk, and ensuring supply continuity for large-scale infrastructure and hardware deployments.
This role requires a highly analytical sourcing professional who can balance long-term strategy with day-to-day execution while influencing suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Operations.
What You'll Do
Commodity Strategy & Supplier Management
- Develop and own multi-year sourcing strategies for direct material categories, including metals, plastics, electronic components, subassemblies, and MRO materials.
- Create and maintain should-cost models to support supplier negotiations and sourcing decisions.
- Monitor global supply markets, industry trends, and pricing dynamics to identify opportunities and risks.
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including supplier identification, qualification, RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and competitive bidding events.
- Evaluate suppliers based on capability, capacity, quality, financial stability, and overall risk profile.
- Conduct supplier assessments and participate in onsite audits as needed.
Contract Negotiation & Commercial Management
- Negotiate and execute Master Supply Agreements, Long-Term Agreements, pricing structures, and commercial terms.
- Partner with Legal and Finance teams to support annual pricing reviews, cost-reduction initiatives, and contract compliance.
- Build strong supplier relationships that support long-term business objectives.
Performance & Risk Management
- Establish supplier scorecards and performance metrics focused on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
- Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key suppliers.
- Develop dual-source and supply diversification strategies to mitigate business and supply chain risk.
Cost Optimization
- Deliver year-over-year cost savings through value engineering, strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier consolidation, and demand aggregation.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams on design-for-cost initiatives and new product introductions.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies throughout the supply chain.
Salary : $181,000 - $236,000
