CNC Trainer

Position: Technical Trainer - CNC Machining

Location: Flint, MI

Duration: 1-year contract (possible extensions/direct hire)

Pay Rate: $45-50/hr

Must-Haves:

• Strong understanding of metal removal processes
• Background in machining/CNC operations
• Ability to effectively communicate and connect with shop floor operators
• Familiarity with tooling and cutting tools
• Need to have experience leading/training/teaching people
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a Technical Trainer – CNC to support a leading automotive manufacturing client. This individual will play a critical role in developing and delivering hands-on training programs for machining operators across multiple production tiers. The role will begin with immersive learning of machining processes—including a potential focus on crankshaft production—before transitioning into instructing operators on best practices, tooling, and blueprint interpretation. The ideal candidate has a strong machining background and a passion for teaching, with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts in a fast-paced shop floor environment. This is a highly interactive role that directly impacts operational efficiency and workforce development.

Day-to-Day:

• Organize training materials and coordinate training schedules
• Learn production processes across 4 training tiers
• Spend initial weeks learning each tier’s machining processes and instructions
• Deliver hands-on operator training following each learning phase
• Support rollout of training programs:
• 3–6 weeks learning 1 month training operators
• Potential focus on crankshaft machining operations during first 8–10 weeks
• Collaborate with shop floor teams, engineers, and leadership
• Provide feedback to improve training content and delivery methods

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
