Business Controller

The ideal candidate will oversee the business and financial operations of the organization. This individual will monitor the organization's economic performance and work closely with the CEO.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant standards for accounting
• Manage cash flow, cash management strategies, and forecasting to support organizational financial health
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes while ensuring timely reporting.
• Manage accounting software such as QuickBooks or other financial management tools
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives with project managers to enhance efficiency
• Misc. Tasks: Maintain all insurance accounts (auto, liability, workers comp, health, etc.); review job contracts and coordinate with the corporate attorney; support employees with health insurance, 401k, etc.; prepare HR-related documents (new hires, employee notices, terminations, etc.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
• 5 years' of experience in finance or accounting
• Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
• Currently living in the San Franciso Bay Area
