Job Description – SENIOR Analyst (SAN DIEGO, CA and DURHAM, NC)

A significant percentage of our work involves litigation consulting, which entails providing support to attorneys and their clients involved in legal disputes, primarily through expert opinions offered in detailed written reports and testimony at trial. The expert report aims to assist attorneys, judges, and juries in understanding complex economic issues related to the case. We rigorously apply our economic expertise in areas such as case analysis, strategy development, and presentation of economic theory and complex data analysis. Our matters typically involve high-stakes disputes relating to economic harm, competitive conditions, efficiency and public interest, and valuation, among other issues. Our consultants provide critical support to Insight experts by reviewing relevant case evidence (business documents and witness testimony), analyzing complex data sets, performing statistical and quantitative analysis, and developing written reports and supporting exhibits. Consultants also assist with preparation for questioning under oath at depositions and trials, among other litigation-related projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform research on various companies, industries, products, and market trends;
- Review and evaluate industry reports, company financials (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flow), and economic and financial models;
- Demonstrate and model effective research, analysis, and report drafting;
- Develop complex economic and financial models including detailed discounted cash flow, net present value, product sales analysis, and other relevant analyses;
- Work effectively with consultants, project managers and experts to execute primary analysis tasks;
- Begin to communicate directly with clients on certain aspects of projects;
- Provide guidance and assistance to Analysts as they learn and grow.
Senior Analysts should be experienced consultants with outstanding analytical skills and a desire to grow professionally within the economic consulting field. We seek individuals who are comfortable with and committed to working efficiently with team members from across locations—and therefore possess strong oral and written communications skills and ability to use technology to promote an efficient working environment. Please note that this position will be based in-office in San Diego, California or Durham, North Carolina. Other requirements include:
- 2-4 years of experience as a consultant or analyst in the litigation consulting field.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Targeting at least 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced experience performing economic/financial analysis, calculations, and research.
- Advanced experience performing statistical data analysis.
- Driven to succeed and grow professionally.
