Job Summary
Both strategic and tactical, The Senior Sales Consultant is responsible for implementing and driving a comprehensive strategy to grow the market share of Environments, and increase overall sales revenue within Oregon and Southwest Washington. Reporting into the Vice President of Sales and Workplace Strategy, this position partners with leadership to set the creative vision and executable plan for building, leading, and executing a business development strategy to both clients and A&D. With a highly consultative approach, they deliver full client satisfaction by overseeing accounts and project teams throughout the entire order life cycle from project discovery and scope development through task or project completion, while building strong, sustainable customer relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Utilizing a collaborative research-driven, bold approach, develop and continually drive a strategic approach to new business development and sales revenue growth throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.
- Through research and networking, continuously develop a database of prospective customers to target in conjunction with existing leads and relationships.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with third-party influencers (commercial real estate brokers, A&D firms, construction management and project management firms) to identify potential opportunities.
- Develop and deliver compelling, polished presentation decks to prospective clients and industry connections.
- Oversee development and execution of RFPs.
- Participate in networking events and professional organizations.
- Provide reporting and feedback to leadership about what is and is not working.
- Engage in social media accounts for consistent, relevant, and branded engagement and campaigns.
Sales, Project, & Work Order Management
- Develop and execute service contracts and service level agreements with customers.
- Lead pricing strategy and negotiations.
- Ensure obstacles and/or changes in scope are identified and resolved and that both the customer and Environments are satisfied throughout the entire project life cycle.
- Be responsive to customers and share relevant industry-specific research, best practices, product recommendations and planning approaches.
- Attend sales meetings and present project information to colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional leadership and communication to customer and internal teams.
- Meet individual and team sales quota.
Customer/Account Servicing
- Ensure timely response to customer requests for products, services, and information.
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of customer needs, company goals, business practices and satisfaction/performance criteria.
- Serve as visible point of contact for the client / account by ensuring top notch account management and customer service.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Required participation in weekly Sales Meetings, Monthly Staff Meetings and quarterly All-Hands Company Meetings.
- Support Customer and Industry Engagements.
- Travel will be required throughout the region (Oregon & SW Washington).
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities, but this may evolve with time.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining a sales pipeline.
- In-depth knowledge of all aspects of contract furniture products and dealer activities with an emphasis on sales, business development, and account management.
- Strong understanding of the complexities and sophistication required to succeed in the furniture industry dealer environment.
- Process-minded with an ability to see and integrate into the big picture to maximize both work quality and efficiency internally and externally.
- Ability to create work plans for projects and manage and drive execution to completion.
- Understanding of construction project phases.
- Ability to read and understand architectural floor plans.
- Excellent and effective at oral and written communication.
- Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast –paced work environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in business transactions and to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Strong and fluid interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of customers, personnel and departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, HubSpot, CORE, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint, and Miro, or willingness to learn quickly.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and have a car.
