Visiting Assistant Professor of Kinesiology
The Department of Kinesiology in the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full‑time, 9‑month, term‑limited Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2026. It is a non‑tenure‑track, on‑campus role that requires regular campus presence and active engagement with students and colleagues. We seek candidates who are committed to creating meaningful learning experiences that promote student success and who bring a strong expertise in sport and exercise psychology, sport behavior, and/or motor behavior and motor learning.
Responsibilities:
Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, South Carolina, just nine miles from the Atlantic coastal resort city of Myrtle Beach. Coastal Carolina University enrolls over 12,000 students from 48 states and 53 nations. Required Qualifications
Doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Demonstrated ability or potential to teach effectively in both classroom and laboratory settings.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in sport and exercise psychology, sport behavior, and/or motor behavior and motor learning. Prior experience teaching exercise and sport behavior or motor behavior.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging academic experiences that promote student success.
- Teach four courses in both the fall and spring semesters (4/4 load). These courses could include EXSS 340 (Exercise and Sport Behavior), EXSS 360 (Motor Behavior), and EXSS 360L (Motor Behavior Laboratory), with the potential to teach other courses based on departmental needs and candidates’ expertise.
- Contribute to the curriculum through effective teaching practices, active learning, and meaningful student engagement.
- Creating and/or facilitating assigned courses, developing course syllabi and instructional materials, maintaining instructional records, and posting and holding office hours.
- Other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the University.
- Opportunities for student‑involved research and service participation may be available, but are not expected or required for this term‑limited visiting appointment.
- Doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field by the time of appointment (ABD candidates will be considered).
- Demonstrated ability or potential to teach effectively in both classroom and laboratory settings.
- Commitment to student-centered teaching and active learning.
- Demonstrated expertise in sport and exercise psychology, sport behavior, and/or motor behavior and motor learning.
- Prior experience teaching exercise and sport behavior or motor behavior. Required Materials:
