Position Summary
The Division of Transplant Surgery of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position. This position is being recruited as an open-rank, open-track appointment at an FTE between 0.5 FTE and 1.0 FTE. The successful applicant will provide clinical services for patients with liver disease, and renal disease. Duties include, but are not limited to, attending on abdominal transplant inpatient services and outpatient clinics for patients being evaluated for transplantation and those patients in the post-transplant period. The individual will be involved in all facets of transplant surgery including kidney transplant, liver transplant, pancreas transplant, organ procurements both living and deceased.
The candidate will be expected to contribute to our academic mission through teaching, research and other mission-based activities, consistent with their experience and interest.
Individuals who exhibit exceptional skills and achievements may be considered for a leadership position within the department of surgery. Leadership roles are not guaranteed and are dependent upon the current needs.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
MD or equivalent. Must have completed a Transplant Surgery fellowship through the American Society of Transplant Surgeons or comparable organization. Transplant Accreditation & Certification Council (TACC) Certified Fellowship.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Candidates with independent experience taking organ offers and performing transplantation surgeries are preferred.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
