Job Summary
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Physical Sciences invites applications for two one-year, half-time chemistry instructor positions beginning August 2026. Primary responsibilities will involve teaching at least 6 contact hours per academic semester and may include General Chemistry lectures and/or laboratories and/or non-science major lecture and/or laboratories. Course modalities are in-person. Some evening labs may be required. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly/professional growth; and service.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of a master's degree in chemistry or related field is required. One year of college-level teaching experience, or equivalent, is required.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred qualifications for this position is either a master's or Ph.D degree in chemistry with two years of college-level teaching.
