Responsibilities
Provides intervention for students in crisis by offering counseling services to students with various personal issues. Formulates intervention plans in order to minimize and/or resolve problems (evaluate needs of student and develop plan of action).
Follows up with other University departments and community agencies to determine and/or recommend best resources available to students in crisis. Provides information and referral to students in need of additional services; collaborate with other University departments to resolve student problems/issues.
Works closely with University Housing, University Counseling and Wellness Center to provide comprehensive services to students. Assists with providing workshops and training sessions to assist university staff and faculty in dealing with problem situations involving students.
Serves on various departmental and University wide committees.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of relevant experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
