About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Job Summary The Student Success Center (SSC) is seeking candidates for the position of peer tutor.
Responsibilities Conduct academic tutoring in various settings: online, face-to-face, one-on-one, and in groups
Assist with computer programs and tutorials as needed
Participate in tutor certification training as part of the position¿s requirements Required Qualifications Must be a current enrolled MGA student.
Must be enrolled in 6 or more semester hours per semester.
Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater.
Strong commitment to public service.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
Applicants for all Student Worker jobs are required to have completed a FAFSA for this academic year.Preferred Qualifications Academic tutoring experience is desired, but not essential
Current GPA of 3.00 or higher
Freshman courses include Elementary Statistics, Anatomy and Physiology, Calculus, Principles of Chemistry, Physics, and French
Sophomore and higher classified courses include Organic Chemistry, Intermediate Accounting, Business Statistics, Programming, Spanish, Nursing, World Literature, Biology, and Engineering
Tutor additional subjects as needed in which an A or B is listed on a transcript.USG Core Values
