Job Description:
The College of Dentistry is seeking applications for a Sterile Equipment Technician. This position is responsible for cleaning dental instruments and the preparation of them for sterilization. The incumbent operates and maintains a variety of sterilization equipment.
Expected Salary:
$16.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience

- Dispensing clean instruments to dental students and departments, using computer program Axium and the INFO-DOT process. Collecting, tracking, and processing dirty instruments according to sterilization protocol.
- Disinfecting and sterilizing dental instruments for all UFCD dental students and the UFCD dental clinics: Replacing broken or missing instruments for UFCD Dental Students.
- Recording incoming and outgoing instruments from students and departments.
- Oiling and maintaining instruments and hand pieces.
- Maintaining machines and reporting needs for repairs (as needed).
- Maintaining office supplies inventory.
- Labeling and scanning with the Axium program.
- In-service training (updates, new sterilization techniques, and computer classes).
