Job Title:Senior Instructional Designer

The Senior Instructional Design Specialist works with faculty to plan, design and develop instructional strategies with a heavy emphasis on online (synchronous and asynchronous), hybrid, and face-to-face courses; develops web based learning using technology such as learning management systems, lecture capture, and course authoring software; plans and manages the workflow of instructional design/development processes using the ADDIE model; provide staff/faculty training on technology integration in the classroom, department, and online environment; help plan and develop new projects; seeks innovative methods to deliver educational services through the application of technology; networks with instructional designers and technologists both inside and beyond the university; participates in activities to stay informed about trends in instructional technology across academia, workforce development, and professional training. Assist in the development of and provide guidance about any new and revised programs, including proposals, courses, faculty development initiatives; recommend specific budgetary needs for the college in regards to online education and educational technology and implement approved budgets; serve as resource person to the college in developing appropriate online and hybrid programs as well as matters pertaining to educational technology; serve as the college's accessibility coordinator; develop and modify policies and procedures as they relate to specific programs; evaluate the effectiveness of specified programs and recommend changes as needed.

Duties Description

Works with subject matter experts to plan, design and develop instructional strategies with a heavy emphasis on online and hybrid delivery. Provide faculty and staff training on technology integration in the classroom, department, trainings, and online environment. Plan and help develop new projects.

Serves as resource person to the college in developing appropriate online and hybrid programs as well as matters pertaining to educational technology. Assists in the development of and provides guidance about any new and revised curricular and training programs, courses, and faculty development initiatives. Recommend specific budgetary needs for the college regarding online education and educational technology and implement approved budgets.

Participates in the evaluation of the effectiveness of specified programs and recommend changes as needed, including development and modification of policies and procedures as they relate to specific programs.

Serves as digital accessibility technical expert and digital accessibility designee for the college. Manages submissions of accommodations-based exception requests to the ADA coordinator's office for educational technologies deployed at the college.

Seeks and applies innovative methods to deliver educational services, making use of current and appropriate technology. Keeps current regarding trends in instructional technology across academia, workforce development, and professional training. Networks with instructional designers and technologists both inside and beyond the university.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

This position requires an onsite physical presence at the Columbus, Ohio, campus.

The salary range for this position is $58,700 to $77,200 to be determined by by internal equity, budget, and the candidate's education and experience.
