Job Summary
The Security Officer - Logistics plays a key role in maintaining the safety and security of all logistics operations within the police department. Responsibilities include monitoring facility access, implementing and overseeing security protocols, and working closely with logistics personnel to protect assets, support event setup, and ensure a secure operational environment.

Responsibilities Job Duties
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Other Required Qualifications
Demonstrated strong observational skills and keen attention to detail.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure or emergency situations.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain promptly, a valid State of Georgia driver¿s license appropriate for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
High school Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of one year of related experience is required.
Experience in logistics coordination, event setup, and operational support is preferred.

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Duties may involve sitting at a desk for extended periods as well as intermittent walking, standing, stooping, bending, or crouching. Responsibilities Job Duties
- Patrols campus grounds and buildings to ensure the safety and security of all facilities.
- Documents incidents and prepares detailed reports for review by supervisors and management.
- Maintains accurate records of security activities, incidents, and facility access logs.
- Inspects doors, windows, and gates to verify they are properly secured.
- Monitors for signs of fire, safety hazards, or suspicious activity.
- Locks and unlocks campus buildings and rooms as needed.
- Provides walking escorts for students, staff, or visitors upon request.
- Staffs fixed-post positions or reception desks to provide security coverage for buildings and special events.
- Completes written reports related to safety concerns, suspicious behavior, or hazardous conditions.
- Enforces applicable city ordinances and University regulations.
- Offers directions, assistance, and general information to campus community members and visitors.
- Responds to low-risk service calls, assessing situations and determining whether further action is required.
- Addresses and documents after-hours incidents, including elevator malfunctions, minor medical issues, maintenance emergencies, and fire alarms.
- Provides assistance to motorists as needed (e.g., lockouts, battery jumps).
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the safety and security of the campus.
