Description
This position is focused on advancing scalable manufacturing routes for high-performance ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) through the development and integration of advanced processing techniques, including polymer infiltration and pyrolysis (PIP), Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI), and resin transfer molding (RTM). The goal is to enable next-generation ceramic materials for extreme environments, particularly in aerospace and energy applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and advancing new ceramic processing capabilities, while contributing to the design, formulation and characterization of ceramic composites with controlled microstructure and properties

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or a closely related field
- Minimum of three years of post PhD research experience
- Proven record of peer-reviewed publications and research productivity
- Experience in processing and characterization of ceramic matrix composites (CMCs)
- Experience with polymer infiltration and pyrolysis (PIP) for CMCs Additional Desired Qualifications
- Experience in chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) and reactive melt infiltration (RMI) for manufacturing of CMCs
- Background in rheology, cure kinetics, and polymer processing science
- Experience in additive manufacturing, particularly for ceramics
