Responsibilities
- Shreds paper at shredding facility. Operates a forklift to move paper bins to the conveyor belt and removes shredded paper from the machine. Loads and unloads cardboard. Operates balers to compress recyclable materials into bundles or bales.
- Shreds confidential documents, ensuring all confidential shredding processes are completed in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Verifies that all required confidential approvals are obtained before a scheduled pickup. Oversees the secure handling, transport, and storage of confidential materials until Waste Management completes final destruction.
- Removes refuse from residence halls and academic buildings. Separates refuse for proper processing and/or disposal. Operates medium-weight vehicles such as open-bed, flat-bed, and other chassis-cab type trucks, complying with truck driving rules as well as university policies and procedures.
- Maintains a safe, clean, sustainable, and attractive environment for the students, faculty, and staff of our institution. Assists in keeping the Waste Management Facility areas clean, which may include pressure washing, grounds, fence lines, and roll-off container areas in the compound. May support areas within Waste Management and other assigned special projects as needed.
- Completion of 9th Grade.
- A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Must have the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and work in inclement weather.
