General Description/Primary Purpose
The Department of Leadership, Organization, and Community Impact is seeking a 9-month, tenure-earning, Assistant or Associate Professor of ASL/English Interpreting. The Bachelor’s degree program at UNF, established in 2007, offers concentrations in Community Interpreting and Educational Interpreting for UNF students. The Master’s degree program was implemented in January 2009 and has three concentrations: Interpreting Pedagogy, General Practitioner, and Educational Interpreting. The programs are philosophically devoted to service learning in the Deaf community, interpreting research, and international study opportunities. Summer teaching is available. Visit our program webpage for additional information. The undergraduate program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education (CCIE).
Position responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses in both the graduate and undergraduate program via face-to-face, blended, and fully online modalities for a well-established ASL/English Interpreter Education Program.

- design online, blended, and traditional courses,
- engage in empirical research, work collaboratively with other faculty to revise, and develop curricula in accordance with the standards of the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education,
- participate in recruitment efforts,
- demonstrate a commitment to both institutional and community service, and
- participate in other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Interpreting, Linguistics, Adult Learning, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Deaf Education, or a related field
- Experience teaching online and blended courses
- Current interpreting experience
- College/university teaching experience in sign language Interpreting courses (not ASL language courses)
- Evidence of a research agenda and scholarly productivity
- Interpreter Certification (RID, AVLIC) or experience as a consumer of interpreting services as a native user of American Sign Language
- Outcomes-based program assessment experience
- Full-time university teaching experience in ASL/English Interpreting
- Expertise in curriculum design and program development
- Experience designing and delivering online and blended courses
- Experience working with, and teaching courses in, DeafBlind interpreting or experience in K-12 Interpreting
- Undergraduate AND graduate teaching experience
- Experience with Federal grant awards and management
