The Ruberto Lab at Florida State University invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to research on drug discovery and drug resistance in unicellular eukaryotic parasites. The candidate’s primary project will involve cellular and molecular profiling of malaria-causing Plasmodium falciparum parasites with varying tolerance to clinical and experimental antimalarials.
Responsibilities
A PhD conferred within the last five years in a relevant field is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cellular and molecular parasitology, ‘omics technologies, bioinformatics, and/or drug discovery is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing scientific experiments under the direction of the principal investigator related to cellular and molecular profiling of malaria-causing Plasmodium falciparum parasites with varying tolerance to clinical and experimental antimalarials.
- Designing and implementing experiments, managing day-to-day lab activities, and other related tasks as assigned.
- Assures implementation of safety procedures and instructs lab members in procedures and operation of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain current knowledge of research techniques through library literature and attendance at campus seminars.
- Presents research findings through lab presentations and seminars.
- Writes manuscripts and assists the PI in reviewing and writing grants. Other duties as assigned.
