Responsible for literature review, experimental design, implementation and publication of hypothesis driven experiments using entomopathogenic nematodes and fungi. Working environments include lab, greenhouse and field.

Position Summary:
The appointee will coordinate, conduct and publish original research to support growers with management of economically important insect pests using entomopathogenic nematodes and fungi. Projects include various aspects of invertebrate pathology and microbial control such as production and formulation technology, genetics, and ecology. Focus crops will include pecan and peach as well as others. One specified project will be to elucidate and integrate ecological knowledge of a whitefly host and newly discovered entomopathogenic fungus to formulate and test novel pest management strategies. Research will include laboratory, greenhouse, plot and on-farm trials.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position:
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Entomology or closely related field with a strong background of relevant course work, a record of peer reviewed scholarly achievement, and excellent communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies :
Previous experience with entomopathogenic nematodes and or fungi is desirable.
Physical Demands:
Good physical condition, lifting up to 25 pounds, working outside under high heat and humidity, and repeatedly bending over to collect insects at ground level.
