The Orthopedic Technician (OT) serves patients and assists clinicians at the Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center. This role primarily supports Sports Medicine Clinicians and Orthopedists but may assist other departments as needed. The OT performs specialized tasks such as casting, brace fitting, and patient education, ensuring that patients receive high-quality orthopedic care. The role requires independent function with minimal supervision, focusing on efficient patient care and collaboration with the clinical team.

Salary & Compensation
- UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. - 3-5 years Experience in orthopedic care, including cast application, brace fitting, and patient education. (Required)
- Knowledge of orthopedic care techniques and practices. (Required)
- Ability to recognize own limitations and defer judgment to others when necessary. (Required)
- Strong understanding of patient rights, confidentiality, and informed consent. (Required)
- Ability to maintain calm in challenging situations. (Required)

- Proficiency in using a PC and knowledge of software such as MS Office, Word, and Outlook. (Required)
- Other Type of Degree Orthopedic Technician certification by either NBCOT or ASOP. (Required)
- CPR Certification Upon Hire (Required)
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
- Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
- TB Test: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory TB test.
- CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
