Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Work expectation for this role is to be in person, predominantly on the Kennesaw campus with occasional work from the Marietta campus.

Job Summary

The Manager of HRIS is an operational leader responsible for managing the institution's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and associated support structures. This role ensures the effective use of HR technology to support data-driven decision-making and oversees the use of HR data feeding to downstream campus systems. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance employee experience, ensure compliance, and support institutional goals. Works together with the University System of Georgia Shared Services Center, campus departments such as University Information Technology Services, and external vendors to ensure project coordination, effective management, and facilitation of efficient operations to meet current and future business needs for the HR department.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for analyzing and directing all functional-related activities within the areas that support the HRIS systems, providing prioritization of time and resources
  • Build and maintain a strong functional team of HR practitioners through effective recruiting, training, coaching, and team building, mentoring the HRIS staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence
  • Lead the strategy, implementation, and maintenance of the university's HRIS platforms
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations
  • Partner with University System of Georgia Shared Services, University IT, and HR stakeholders to optimize system functionality and user experience
  • Oversee delivery of training for HRIS users and documentation for system processes
  • Generate and analyze HR metrics and dashboards to support strategic planning and reporting
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of HRIS processes
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior HR leadership
  • Participate in institutional committees and initiatives related to HR technology
  • Oversee release of employee information and HR Data in response to Freedom of Information Act, Open Records requests, subpoenas, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations governing HR data and systems

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field

Required Experience

Five (5) years of progressive experience in HRIS, preferably in higher education or a complex organization.

Experience with major HRIS platforms and management systems

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications

PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or other relevant certification

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Preferred Experience

Experience managing a team

Experience in metrics and dashboarding to drive data-drive decision making
