About the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology

The College of Computing has been a leader in defining modern computing as a paradigm that combines the foundations of theoretical mathematics and information science, the force of invention in computational systems and processes, and interdisciplinary practice that integrates innovation in computing with all facets of life. Today, the college comprises five schools that offer unique academic programs and conduct research specifically related to their concentration areas: Computer Science, Computing Instruction, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Interactive Computing, and Computational Science and Engineering.

Job Summary

The College of Computing invites applications for a Lecturer position. This will be a full-time, non-tenure-track, open-rank faculty position in the Lecturer career ladder. The successful candidate will be hired at the rank of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Principal Lecturer commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and with Institute and University System of Georgia policies. The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching 3 credit hours of coursework in project management/leadership per semester (Spring, Summer, and Fall) in the OMSCS programs; advising student research projects in interdisciplinary computing research areas, especially for online MSCS students; working with other OMSCS research faculty on projects related to research effort expansion and evaluating our OMSCS programs efforts related to research and teaching at scale. Candidates should submit their application materials online.

Required Qualifications

This position vacancy is an open rank announcement. Final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with Non-tenure Track Academic Faculty ranks as outlined in section 3.2.2 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook (https://www.policylibrary.gatech.edu/faculty-handbook/3.2.2-non-tenure-track-academic-faculty-members-hiring-and-promotion-guidelines).

Lecturer

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field

Senior Lecturer

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least six (6) years full-time relevant experience

Principal Lecturer

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least (5) years full-time relevant experience

Student Success Criteria

The ability to engage students in experiential learning activities and pedagogy that support student success.

Preferred Qualifications

A Ph.D. in a computing or higher-education related field.

Interdisciplinary Computing research experience
