Position Overview
The Lab Coordinator assists with the day-to-day operations of site including maintenance, security and continuous improvement of the Lab to ensure efficient and effective functioning. The position coordinates and maintains inventory of equipment and supplies, manages records, and provides support to students and faculty. The Lab Coordinator ensures that the lab is operating efficiently and that resources are utilized in accordance with the College policies and procedures.
This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.
This is a temporary grant funded position.

Position Overview

What you will be doing
- Supports the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the lab
- Assists with the development of curriculum that accurately reflects content, goals and objectives of program
- Ensures that students receive personalized support by directly engaging with them during workshops, information sessions, and on-on-one meetings
- Ensures a proper schedule of lab sessions and provides notification of changes of schedules or class cancelation to staff, faculty and students
- Coordinates initiatives designed to promote programs
- Assists with reporting any accidents or incidents at the Lab using the College’s established guidelines and reporting procedures
- Monitors student attendance and performance evaluations and reports any problems to program administration
- Coordinates the acquisition of necessary lab materials and supplies while scheduling and performing routine maintenance on all laboratory machinery and equipment
- Maintains an organized and detailed inventory of lab tools, materials, and resources
- Collaborates with sales representatives, vendors, and industry professionals
- Maintains budget reports and assures receipt of ordered supplies and equipment
- Conducts research and provides guidance on lab equipment selection
- Ensures compliance with safety protocols in the use of machinery and equipment
- Establishes and ensures adherence to the lab guidelines
- Maintains detailed logs of lab access and utilization by faculty and student members
- Keeps abreast of new technological developments to help improve productivity and support faculty with the integration of technology into classroom instruction
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Master’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of related work experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and materials issues
- Problem-solving skills for managing safety or operational challenges
- Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility
- Attention to detail for inventory, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
