What You’ll Do
The OPS Honors Program Staff monitors the Honors Lounge, assists students, and provides front-line support by helping Honors students navigate academic planning and college success resources, including online support tools.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Monitoring the Honors Lounge to ensure a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment.
- Assisting Honors students with general questions and directing them to appropriate resources.
- Guiding students in using online academic tools including creating academic plans and tracking academic progress.
- Assisting students in locating information about transfer institutions and degree pathways.
- Providing basic troubleshooting assistance for online student systems.
- Referring complex academic or advising concerns to Honors Program Director.
- Maintaining confidentiality of student information.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
- Monday through Friday- maximum of 25 hours per week.
- Positions will work one of the following shifts:
- 8:00 am – 12:30 pm
- 12:30 pm – 5:00 pm
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success.
- A high school diploma or its equivalent, and two (2) years of progressively responsible secretarial and/or clerical experience; or a combination of education and/or experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using computer-based systems and online tools.
- Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to explain academic processes and online systems clearly.
- Dependable, organized, and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
