Summary of Position: Indiana Wesleyan University’s School of Integrated Learning and Development (SILD) invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment in Education. We are seeking a dynamic educator-scholar who is passionate about preparing the next generation of teachers and leaders through innovative, fully online programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to innovation, digital fluency, the Science of Reading, Early Literacy, and awareness of current trends in teacher preparation and licensure (initial and advanced levels), including the responsible use of AI in education. Faculty in SILD play a pivotal role in shaping transformative educators who are grounded in faith, character, and service.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in fully online formats
- Apply cutting-edge approaches, including AI and emerging technologies, to enrich literacy and content-area instruction
- Mentor and support diverse candidates in initial and advanced licensure programs, fostering dispositions of professionalism, equity, and Christian service
- Contribute to program and curriculum development aligned with CAEP, InTASC, CEC, SOR and state licensure standards
- Actively engage in assessment of key signature assignments (e.g., Diversity Case Study, Teacher Work Sample, Digital Portfolio) to ensure continuous program improvement
- Participate in faculty governance, accreditation work, and service to the university and broader educational community
- Maintain an active scholarly and professional presence, with a focus on literacy, innovation, teacher preparation, and online education
Education
- Earned doctorate (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) in Education, or closely related field
- Expertise in licensure area, Special Education preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Science of Reading and early literacy instruction
- Demonstrated excellence in online teaching, with a record of innovative course design and student engagement
- Knowledge of current licensure requirements and teacher preparation standards in both initial and advanced programs
- Ability to thoughtfully integrate AI tools, educational technology, and contemporary best practices teacher preparation
- Commitment to the mission and values of Indiana Wesleyan University, including a Christ-centered approach to transformational education
- Evidence of scholarship, professional engagement, and/or contributions to the field of education
