Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Associate's Degree In Concrete Science Technology, Masonry, Building Construction Technology, or related discipline. Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Residential Construction Management, Technology Education, or related discipline. Preferred
- In Residential Construction Management, Technology Education, or related discipline. Required
- Six (6) years trade experience in building construction, concrete and masonry, to include estimating and management experience in residential and commercial construction. Preferred
- Teaching experience at the secondary or postsecondary level. Preferred
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, faculty, and the public. Required
- Developed organizational skills. Required
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
- Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, staff, and the public. Required
- Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multi-cultural issues. Required
- Teach theory and lab courses on residential and commercial building methods and techniques in the areas of concrete science, concrete estimating, and masonry principles.
- Provide coordination and supervision for instructional field projects.
- Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
- Maintain communications with School Administrators, as appropriate.
- Requisition supplies, materials, tools, equipment, and maintenance as appropriate.
- Assume responsibility for laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.
- Attend Department meetings as requested.
- Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
- Some lifting not to exceed 40 lbs. will be required.
- Some work from ladders and scaffolds will be required.
