Internal Operations
- Serve as a senior athletics administrator responsible for the oversight and coordination of departmental internal operations and strategic initiatives.
- Represent Towson University Athletics as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at bi-monthly CAA meetings and serve as a voting representative on conference matters.
- Serve on CAA committees related to policy development and scheduling.
- Complete and submit all required annual NCAA and USM reports, attestations, APR, and GSR reports on behalf of the department.
- Coordinate the student-athlete awards nomination process at the CAA and NCAA levels.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Athletics to develop, review, revise, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and the student-athlete handbook.
- Lead and coordinate departmental committee efforts and oversee all student and staff administrative days.
- Serve as the lead administrator for Student Services initiatives and interdepartmental operational planning.
- Oversee the Athletics Business Operations Office.
- Coordinate all Intercollegiate Athletics Committee meetings and related communications.
- Oversee real response reporting processes, including student-athlete complaints, concerns, and end-of-year surveys.
- Lead departmental strategic planning efforts, including the development and alignment of Athletics’ five-year goals.
- Spearhead the development and implementation of graduate assistant positions within Athletics.
- Oversee departmental efforts related to gender equity, diversity, equity, and inclusion, including Title IX compliance initiatives and diversity planning and reviews.
- Serve as Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics and work closely with the Office of Inclusion and Institutional Equity (OIIE) on harassment, bias, and sex discrimination matters.
- Serve on campus-wide committees and task forces, including DEI and Gender Equity Taskforce, Behavioral Interventions Team, CARE Team, Campus Assessment, and the International Student Task Force Group.
- Lead departmental coordination and hosting efforts for Golden Paws and other signature Athletics events.
- Manage additional special projects and assignments as directed by the Director of Athletics and General Counsel.
- Supervise all student-athlete support functions within the department, including compliance, academic achievement, and the Total Tiger Program.
- Oversee student-athlete conduct matters, leadership development initiatives, and community service programming.
- Oversee Athletics’ relationship with the Student Accountability and Restorative Practices Office related to student conduct processes.
- Develop and oversee programming focused on career readiness, financial literacy, leadership development, diversity, equity and inclusion, and transitioning out of college athletics.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive student-athlete experience that promotes academic success, personal growth, well-being, and engagement.
- Coordinate and oversee departmental community service initiatives and civic engagement opportunities for student-athletes.
- Develop strong communication and relationships with coaches, student-athletes, and campus stakeholders to monitor the student-athlete experience and strengthen alumni engagement opportunities.
- Supervise the Athletics Sport Administrator program, including assignment and oversight responsibilities for sport administrators and varsity sports programs.
- Provide direct oversight and supervision of assigned varsity sports, including responsibility for team budgets, compliance, athletics aid, scheduling, coaching searches, academic success, facilities, event management, media relations, and marketing efforts.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to support the success and sustainability of varsity sport programs.
- Continue to develop secondary Sport Administrator model to support junior administrator professional development and expand administrative support for each sport program.
- Create and manage the Sport Administrator Tool Kit to enhance operational consistency, communication, and professional development across the department.
- Maintain regular communication with coaches, student-athletes, and administrators to support program success, monitor experiences, and foster positive departmental culture and alumni relationships
Qualifications And Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Eight years of experience in sports management or related experience
- Demonstrated record of achievement working in a challenging NCAA compliance setting at the Division I level
- Demonstrated record of accomplishments that demonstrate initiative, creativity, and interpersonal skills in a university setting and a successful track record in dealing with the NCAA
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Alignment with and appreciation of the university's and department's strategic vision
- Ability to create an action plan for achieving university and department priorities in the supervised areas and articulate a compelling case for supporting the priorities of the Department of Athletics
- Ability to maintain poise in interactions with university administration, community leaders, external governing bodies, and co-workers
- Ability to learn new programs quickly, write and speak clearly and effectively, and maintain sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to respond positively to criticism and advice, establish priorities, and meet agreed upon deadlines
- Effectiveness in building consensus and solving problems throughout the organizational structure and demonstrate initiative in seizing opportunities
- A self-starter who can also mentor younger staff and student-athletes, as well as build a cohesive team
- Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and commitment to compliance with rules
- Master’s or Juris Doctor degree
- Experience as a former college student-athlete
