Position Description
Chaffey College is seeking applicants for the adjunct faculty pool in the DPS Counseling Department. All applicants are expected to meet the California State Community College Minimum Qualifications for DPS Counselors (below). Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee employment or an interview. Additional Requirements: Must have successfully completed the California Community College Learning Disabilities Eligibility Model Training and be certified as an LD Specialist. Written documentation of successful completion of the Learning Disabilities Eligibility Model Training is required.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling; OR
- Master's degree in special education AND twenty-four (24) or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work in counseling, guidance, student personnel, psychology, or social work; OR
- Master's degree in counseling, guidance, student personnel, psychology, career development, or social welfare AND either twelve (12) or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work specifically in counseling or rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities, or two (2) years of full-time experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following: counseling or guidance for students with disabilities; or counseling and/or guidance in industry, government, public agencies, military, or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities of the position were predominantly or exclusively for persons with disabilities; OR
- Possession of a valid lifetime California Community College credential authorizing service in special education and/or counseling; OR
- The equivalent (District equivalency form must be submitted at the time of application); AND
- 15 semester units of upper division or graduate study in the area of learning disabilities, to include, adult cognitive and achievement assessment or the equivalent; AND
- Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.
- 53414(a). If there is any conflict between the paraphrased language and the title 5 language, the title 5 language shall prevail.
Desirable Qualifications
- Coursework and experience working in an instructional setting with persons with disabilities and experience in training techniques for students.
- Knowledge of assessment measures to include interpretation and utilization of data in the counseling process;
- Knowledge of assistive technologies to facilitate access to educational programs for students with disabilities.
- Must have successfully completed the California Community College Learning Disabilities Eligibility Model Training and be certified as an LD Specialist. Written documentation of successful completion of the Learning Disabilities Eligibility Model Training is required.
